2014

The Columbus North boys soccer team beat Scottsburg in the Bull Dogs’ sectional. Senior captain Jason Fier converted a penalty kick, which lead North to a 7-0 victory.

1999

The Custer Foundation and the River Rats commissioned artist Cathe Burris to paint a 4-foot by 8-foot mural at Columbus City Hall depicting Jack the Bum, a local legend from the first third of the 20th century.

1974

The Ramada Inn motel opened on State Road 46 west of Interstate 65, which included a 229-seat restaurant. The motel was built and owned by Westgate Investment Corporation.
