Dorothy A. Beaver

COLUMBUS

Dorothy A. Beaver, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 6:40 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at Four Seasons Health Care Center at the age of 80.

Dorothy was born in Columbus, April 24, 1944, the loving daughter of Maurice Randolph and Wanna Stearman Hadley. She was the wife of William Robert Beaver, to whom she was faithfully married to for 43 years from November 21, 1962, until his death April 9, 2006.

Earlier in life, Dorothy worked in a grocery store, helped her father survey homes and she was always a helping hand on the family farm. Dorothy was a loving homemaker that took special care of her family. She was a faithful member of Ohio Chapel United Methodist Church where she served in many different ways. She was the church pianist, youth leader, served on the worship committee and was the cemetery sexton. Dorothy was a 4-H leader for many years.

Dorothy will be remembered by her children, Christina (Raymond) Roberts of Columbus, Cynthia (Greg) Hinton of Anthem, Arizona and Maurice (Karen) Beaver of Columbus; grandchildren, Victoria Beaver of Columbus, Dexter (Keri) Hinton of Mesa, Arizona, Jillian (Jonathan) Whited of Columbus, Krystle Beaver of Columbus, Charles (Amy Cramer) Ayres of Indianapolis and Emilie Beaver of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Aden Beaver, Ansley Whited and Asher Whited; sister, Barbara (Dave) Baker of Dallas, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; and her brothers, David, Bob and Jim Hadley.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike; Pastor Amy Linnemann will officiate.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Ohio Chapel Cemetery.
