GHOST WALK AND MYSTERY DINNER, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Oct. 18, 19, Jennings County Historical Museum, 134 E. Brown St., Vernon. The Ghost Walk starts at 6:30 p.m. with the last tour at 9:30 p.m. Local students reenact ghost stories and Jennings County folklore. Guided tours begin at the museum on Brown Street with the first story: the Devil of Weston Bottoms. $3 for 8 years old and up; children 7 and under tour the ghost stories for free. Enjoy hot chocolate, apple cider, and snacks for sale at the concession area inside the museum. Sit by the firepits and talk with our favorite fortune teller at the VARDO wagon. Historical society volunteers cook and serve the Mystery Dinner for $20 per person (all attendees must have a ticket regardless of age). ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID, 7 p.m., Oct. 18, 19, 20, Willow Leaves of Hope, 325 Jackson St., Hope. Actor’s Studio On Stage and WILLow LeaVes of Hope present “Always a Bridesmaid.” In this hilarious romp, four friends have sworn to keep the promise they made at Senior Prom – to be in each other’s wedding…no matter what! More than 30 years later, these Southern friends for life are still making the “long walk” for each other. This funny play asks the question “just how far are you willing to go to keep a promise to a friend?” Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m. For the Sunday show, doors open at 12:30 p.m., dinner is at 1 p.m. and the show is at 2 p.m. $35 per person includes dinner, dessert and a show. BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, 524 Third St., Columbus. BCHS hosts two permanent exhibits that share the history and heritage of Bartholomew County. Through early November, featuring “Out of the Wardrobe: The Clothing of Bartholomew County’s Past,” a curated collection of nearly 70 local outfits spanning 160 years. Learn about our county through interactive, hands-on exhibits that include a map table, notable people, county timeline, Then and Now, Did You Know, early industrialists and videos of Reeves steam engines. The historical society also hosts rotating exhibits throughout the year featuring items from their extensive collection. Admission is free with a donation suggested. Special tours may be scheduled by calling 812-372-4356. The museum preserves the history of the former Atterbury Army Air Field, later named Bakalar Air Force Base.
