2014

A special Columbus edition of Chuck Taylor Converse All Star basketball shoes were being planned with a December release date. The shoes, commonly known as “Chucks,” would come in royal blue and orange, the colors for Columbus North and Columbus East.

1999

Despite being pulled from the race due to mechanical issues, the Solar Stealth team from Columbus was determined to finish the World Solar Challenge in Australia. The team continued on the course with their car in a trailer, and arrived in time for the closing banquet.

1974

Columbus native and 1927 Columbus High School graduate Francis M. Kline was honored in Miami, Florida for his 25 years of service as the executive director of the Boys Club of Miami. Kline also directed the local Boys Club in 1936 and 1937.
