Lights Up, Sound Down Movie: “Hocus Pocus” — 10 a.m. to noon, Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Three 17th-century witches, hanged for their murderous crimes, are resurrected on Halloween in modern-day Salem by an unsuspecting boy, who must now figure out how to get them back in the ground.

Mulch and Compost Loading — 2 to 4:30 p.m., Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District Yard Waste Site, 720 S. Mapleton St., Columbus. Bartholomew County residents are welcome to self-load mulch and/or compost from our Yard Waste Site free of charge (adjacent to the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center.) $10 per pick-up truck size load of mulch or compost. Teen STEAM: Build a Gaming Computer — 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Learn how to build a gaming computer with a step-by-step demonstration. Register on the library website.

BCPL Express — 5 to 7 p.m., Goodies, Goblins and Ghosts at Hope Town Square, 404 Jackson St., Hope. BCPL Express is a mobile free book program from the Bartholomew County Public Library.

Park of the Living Dead — 7 to 8 p.m., Mill Race Park, Carl Miske Drive, Columbus. Mill Race Park will be overrun with zombies. As survivors, it is your job to secure shelter, find food, train with a weapon, gain access to medical supplies and ultimately create the cure. Starting at 7 p.m., every 10 minutes, a group of humans will embark on their evening run to different stations to accomplish these essentials of survival and to find the cure. You will receive a map, and you may visit the stations in any order you choose, but the last station you visit must be “the cure.” Sign up for your time slot and prepare yourself for Park of the Living Dead! Children 14 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. $15 per person.

Skate and Scare: Witches Lair — 7 to 9 p.m., Hamilton Center, 2501 Lincoln Park Drive, Columbus. Grab your broomsticks, mops and vacuums and fly on over to Hamilton Center for our annual Skate and Scare. In addition to our mysterious maze through the witches’ lair, we invite attendees to join us for a public skate on the large ice, crafts, and of course plenty of candy. $9 per person.
