Girl Up! event teaches young students about STEM career opportunities

Bartholomew Consoldiated School Corp. presented Girl Up! SHEroes of Stem Friday for girls in fifth and sixth grades to better understand non-traditional roles in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

The session was also an opportunity to see female role models and mentors in career paths of interest to the participants.

Hands-on STEM activities were led by volunteers from Cummins, Columbus Robotics and the local community.

Activities related to architecture, biomedical sciences, culinary arts, engineering, fashion and textiles, graphic design, veterinary and welding.

The event was presented in collaboration with BCSC’s C4, the BCSF, Columbus Robotics, Columbus Sunrise Rotary Club, Cummins, Toyota Material Handling and the Tony London Co.
