Ron Ritter, a 23-year employee of Enkei America’s logistics department in Columbus, won the prize as the 25th Anniversary Hoosier Millionaire. Ritter became the 192nd seven-figure winner of the game.

Four staff reporters from The Republic won three first prizes and an honorable mention in the sixth annual United Press International Newspaper Editors Competition for News Writing and News Pictures. Regional Editor Charlotte Sellers, Sportswriter J.D. Lewis and Regional Feature Writer Edna Thayer won first prizes, and Women’s Editor Jean Prather won an honorable mention.
