IUC women drop inaugural game at Taylor

TAYLOR — The first game in IU Columbus women’s basketball history didn’t go quite the way the Crimson Pride had hoped on Tuesday.

Taylor jumped out to a 55-26 halftime lead and went on to hand IUC a 97-59 defeat.

Abby Fleetwood, a sophomore from Indian Creek who played at Spring Arbor last year, led the Crimson Pride with 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots. Amaya Collins scored 15 points, and Gwen Higdon added 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks.

IUC will visit Spring Arbor on Saturday. The home opener is Nov. 14 against Kuyper.
