Edinburgh Correctional Facility inmate back in custody after brief escape

An inmate is back in custody after he “walked away” from the Edinburgh Correctional Facility Friday morning.

Dylan B. Clubs, who is incarcerated at the facility on drug charges, reportedly “walked away” from the facility earlier on Friday. Clubs has since been taken back into custody, said Brandi Pahl, chief communications officer for the Indiana Department of Correction, at 10:45 a.m Friday.

Clubs, 31, was most recently sentenced in June on methamphetamine possession charges out of Blackford County. His projected release date was July 15, 2026, IDOC records show.

News of the Clubs’ escape was shared in several area Facebook groups.

Edinburgh Community School Corp. also had a lockdown for a time on Friday as a result of the search for Clubs.
