It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Bob” D. Kelley announce his passing today. Bob, 82, passed away peacefully in the early hours of the 29th of October 2024, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN. Bob was born March 7th, 1942. He graduated from Brookeville High School in 1960. Bob played basketball for Brookeville and had the opportunity to play at the school of Northwestern University after high school, but chose to pursue other career opportunities leading to a long standing career with Vectren as a well-known and respected service technician. After many years, Bob found his true passion for sports in golf. Pursuing the sport for years, he was an exceptional golfer and inspired family to pursue the sport as well. Bob enjoyed golfing, playing card games, and spending quality time with friends and family. Bob and Dianne married on October 14th, 1970, and recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Survivors include his wife Dianne Kelley; sisters Marilyn (Kelley) Dora, Sharron (Kelley) Bolyard, Connie (Kelley) and Jerry Cotter; children Chris and Gayle Kelley, Colleen (Kelley) and Ray Shepherd, Robert and Jennifer Kelley, and David Kelley; grandchildren Grant Shepherd, John David and Heather Kelley, Olivia (Kelley) and Mason Newkirk, Hannah (Kelley) and Evan Otte, Alexander Kelley, Beck Kelley, and Anna Kelley; great grandchildren Amelia Otte, Abel Kelley, Maddox Kelley, and Scarlett Otte. Bob is preceded by his Parents Armin and Evelyn Kelley, his brother Gerald Kelley, and his brother-in-law Herald Dora. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. Howard Boles officiating. Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 11:00 a.m. to time of service. He will be laid to rest at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
