State: 336 additional Hoosiers diagnosed with COVID-19

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health announced today that 336 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 749,097 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

To date, 13,324 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 30 from the previous day. Another 421 probable deaths have been reported to date based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.

A total of 3,539,921 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 3,536,566 on Friday. A total of 10,643,374 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.

Bartholomew County reported 8,158 positive tests (up four) with 157 deaths (no change) as of Saturday.

Surrounding counties reported:

  • Jackson County: 5,083 positive cases (up three) with 74 deaths (no change).
  • Jennings County: 2,351 positive cases (up one) with 49 deaths (no change).
  • Decatur County: 2,899 positive cases (up two) with 92 deaths (no change).
  • Shelby County: 5,006 positive cases (up four) with 97 deaths (no change).
  • Johnson County: 18,386 positive cases (up nine) with 387 deaths (up two).
  • Brown County: 1,039 positive cases (no change) with 43 deaths (no change).

Hoosiers age 12 and older can receive a COVID-19 vaccine; individuals younger than age 18 are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine only. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accepted at most sites.

As of today, a total of 5,384,791 doses have been administered in Indiana. This includes 2,722,309 first doses and 2,662,482 individuals who are fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated number represents individuals who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and those who received the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
