Marilyn Kaye Carr

COLUMBUS

Marilyn Kaye Carr, 54, of Columbus, Indiana passed away on May 31, 2021 after a long battle with breast cancer.

Most people that knew Marilyn would not have known she was even sick, until about the last 3 months. Marilyn maintained her sense of humor and stubbornness throughout even her toughest days as well as her passion of shopping for primitive decorations and gardening.

Marilyn felt her biggest accomplishments in life were her three daughters and son. If you ask them, they agree she was also a great cook and nurse. Marilyn took great joy in her role as a nurse liaison for Greenwood Village South. She prided herself with being a strong patient advocate and going above and beyond for every patient.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 26 years, Ron Carr; daughters, Brooke (Nathan) Ruse, Allison Carr and Gabriella Carr; a son Brandon (Meaghan) McElroy; a fur baby, Brody; grandchildren Riley Ruse, Chase Ruse, Owen McElroy, Parker McElroy, and Demi McElroy; and brothers James Stephens and Darrell Slaven. She is preceded in death by her mother Maxine Stephens and Grandmother Frona Taylor.

Marilyn chose to donate her body to IU School of Medicine’s anatomical education program. IU will use Marilyn’s donation for up to 24 months and her remains will be cremated and returned to her family. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
