Turning Point partners on art project

Staff Reports

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, Turning Point Domestic Violence Services and the Columbus Area Arts Council will collaborate on a community art project.

Goals of the project are to amplify the voices of survivors and working toward preventing domestic violence through art.

The project consists of magnetic buttons created by community members which will be displayed in the 411 Gallery’s Community Studio for the month of October.

The project was inspired by the piece “33, Three Four Two” that was created as a collaboration between the Indianapolis Arts Center and The Julian Center.

Turning Point is seeking community members to design a button for the project by contacting prevention team member Stephanie Cunningham at [email protected] or by calling 812-379-5575, Ext. 203.

The agency is asking those who are interesting in entering a design to follow Turning Point on Facebook and Instagram where submissions will be posted as they are received.

Turning Point Domestic Violence Services serves Bartholomew, Brown, Jackson, Johnson and Shelby counties.
