COLUMBUS YOUTH FISHING SERIES, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., June 20, Mill Race Park, 50 Carl Miske Drive, Columbus. Enjoy a relaxing evening of fishing with your family during these Sundays in June. All skill levels of young fisherwomen and fishermen are invited. Prizes will be awarded each night to winners of various categories. Interactive casting games will be set up to help teach kids how to cast, and we will also have guests present to provide expert knowledge on fishing in Indiana. Ages 3 to 15. Talks, lectures, classes

MAGNIFICENT BEAST, June 15 to 22, Bartholomew County Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. The documentary “Magnificent Beast” is about the history of pigs and humans together. Since the dawn of humanity, pigs have had a complex relationship with us as food, as foe, and even as friend. Author Tess Gerritsen and her son Josh Gerritsen traveled around the world interviewing archaeologists, religious scholars, hunters and pet pig owners. Their journey reveals the many ways this intelligent and complex animal has found its way into religious scripture, onto our dinner tables, and even into our homes. DARKNESS TO LIGHT TRAINING/PREVENT CHILD ABUSE, 3 to 5 p.m., June 22. Facilitated by the Family Service, Inc. CAP team, this two-hour session teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, respond to, and report child sexual abuse. Darkness to Light is a non-profit committed to empowering adults to prevent child sexual abuse. Those who attend are eligible for a $50 door prize. BEGINNER PICKLEBALL CLINIC FOR ADULTS, 5:30 to 7 p.m., June 17, Donner Park pickleball courts, 17th and Sycamore streets, Columbus. Clinic is $45 per person. Pre-registration required. Rain make-up is June 24. The three-day clinic, for those 18 and older, will introduce the fundamentals of the game. MASTER SWIM/DEEP WATER WALKING, Monday through Friday from 12 to 2 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 27 to Aug. 15, Donner Center, 739 22nd St., Columbus. Deep water walking for adults is offered in the diving well daily. This is a self-directed program outside and participants must provide their own flotation devices. Masters swimming is great for fitness and stress relief. Also take advantage of lap swimming for adults (18 and over). Three lanes of the pool are available during swim lessons. Cost is $3.

Galleries, museums, exhibits

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, 524 Third St., Columbus. Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. BCHS hosts two permanent exhibits that share the history and heritage of Bartholomew County. Most recently, an “Early Industrialists” exhibit was installed. The historical society also hosts rotating exhibits throughout the year featuring items from their extensive collection. Currently they are featuring a quilt exhibit, “The Great Cover Up,” which celebrates the societies centennial and county bicentennial through its quilts and coverlets.
