3.8 magnitude earthquake shakes east central Indiana

MONTEZUMA, Ind. — A minor earthquake centered in a small town in east central Indiana shook the state on Thursday afternoon.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the 3.8 magnitude quake was centered 4 miles northeast of Montezuma, a town of 980 in Parke County.

Quakes with a magnitude from 3-3.8 are often felt, but only cause minor damage.
