Olympians finish fourth

SEYMOUR — Columbus East finished fourth out of nine teams in Wednesday’s Seymour Invitational at Shadowood.

The Olympians had a 353 team total, a 15-shot improvement over last season. Second-ranked Westfield won with a 300, while the Westfield B team finished second at 342 and New Albany was third at 352, one shot ahead of East.

Harley Gant finished fourth individually with a career-best 76 to lead the Olympians. Carter Gant carded an 86, Katie Hong added a 95, Peyton Meier shot 96 and Lilly Steinwedel had a 102.

Jennings County finished seventh with a 408. Sophia Curry and Alexis Carson each shot 83 to lead the Panthers, while Lauren Galvan carded a 116, Emma Kirchner added a 126 and Emma Jones had a 132.

Eagles open with win

NASHVILLE — Annika Evenson won medalist honors with a 43 to lead Brown County 216-232 season-opening win against Indian Creek at Salt Creek.

Ainslie Winton carded 54, and Abby Padgett added 58 for the Eagles. Lilly VanNess, Mattie Satter and Hannah deWeerdt all shot 61, and Ava Padgett had a 72.
