NORTH VERNON
Barbara Ann Knarr, 78, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:06 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021, at her residence.
Born November 7, 1942, in Jennings County, she was the daughter of Harold Franklin and Harriett Berniece (Jones) Morris. She married Marlin Dean Knarr on October 18, 1969, at the First Baptist Church in North Vernon; he survives.
Barbara was a 1960 graduate of North Vernon High School and retired as a QMA from Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville after 20 years; she had also worked for the former Connaughton Chevrolet and Branham Camper Sales in North Vernon. She was a former member of First Baptist Church in North Vernon and enjoyed knitting, bowling, reading, working puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband; Marlin; son, Kevin (Bethany Root) Knarr of North Vernon; daughter, Joella (Joseph) Bennett of North Vernon; brother, James Andrew (Judy) Morris of North Vernon; grandchildren, Dillon Bennett, Dustin Bennett, Aaron Knarr and Autumn Root, all of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William “Bill” Morris.
A graveside service will be conducted in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon with the Rev. Dan Barringer officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Barbara to Campbell Township Fire Department or Scipio/Geneva Fire Department.
