Jeffrey Laurence Pearcy

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla.

Jeffrey Laurence Pearcy, 63, of Citrus County, Fla., passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2021, of natural causes. His unique outlook on life will be sorely missed. If you ever met Jeff, you never forgot him. He was a smart, funny, outgoing (to say the least), talented, brutally honest, generous, take-charge kind of guy. He took care of family, friends and anyone else who needed help.

Jeff grew up in Columbus, Ind., where he built close friendships and honed his love of photography, animals and storytelling. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in mathematics and, in 1984, earned his DDS degree from the IU School of Dentistry. Taking the dental path less chosen, Jeff spent his 30-year career as a dentist for the Indiana Department of Corrections, ultimately serving as Dental Director for the entire State of Indiana. He took great pride in the dental policies he established and the professional team he assembled throughout the state. His stories from those 30 years are legendary.

Born in Frankfort, Ind., on June 11, 1958, Jeff was the son of the late Howard and Joan Pearcy of Columbus, Ind. He is survived by his wife, Donna Pearcy; children, Amanda (Lance) Davis and Austin (Megan) Pearcy; and grandsons, Jackson and Grant Davis. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon (Tim) Hill; uncle, Jay Rushworth; aunt, Paula Rushworth; sisters-in-law and their families; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
