Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested a Seymour driver after being sent to State Road 7 about a possible impaired driver at 3:22 a.m. Sunday.
Deputies located the suspect vehicle, a Ford pickup truck, as it approached Columbus city limits. Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Marr Road and State Street. The driver slowed but rolled to a stop in a nearby parking lot.
While speaking with the driver, identified as Christopher John Taskey, 44, Seymour, Sgt. Andrew Dougan observed methamphetamine on Taskey’s person. However, Taskey ingested the suspected methamphetamine, deputies said.
Taskey was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for evaluation. After being released, he was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:
Obstruction of Justice
Resisting law enforcement
Taskey remains in jail in lieu of $12,500 bond, jail officials said.
