Moonlight Loop ride has to cancel

Due to low registration and limited staff, Columbus Animal Care Services has announced it will cancel the planned Moonlight Loop Ride scheduled for July 30.

Held annually for the past seven years, the ride has raised more than $81,000 for CACS services.

“We are very disappointed to have to cancel this year’s event,” said Nicohl Birdwell-Goodin, director of CACS. “This event is always a lot of fun and it allows us to raise much needed funds for the care of homeless animals in our community. However, due to staffing shortages and low registration numbers, it was not feasible to host the event this year, as we would not be able to deliver the quality event that our past participants have enjoyed.”

Those who have pre-registered for this year’s event may contact Columbus Animal Care Services at [email protected] or (812) 376-2505 to request a refund. All registration fees not refunded will be considered a donation to CACS and will be used to care for animals in the community, officials said.
