Columbus East and North high schools’ combined marching band will compete at an upcoming regional event.
The Sound and Spirit of Columbus will compete in the Indiana State School Music Association’s (ISSMA) Open Class regional competition on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Center Grove High School in Greenwood. The band’s performance is set for 4:30 p.m.
Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students and preschoolers.
Columbus competes in ISSMA’s Open A division. 23 Open A bands are scheduled compete at regionals, with 11 performing at Carroll High School in Ft. Wayne and 12 at Center Grove.
The top 10 bands in the Open A division at each site will participate in the Open Class Semi-state competition on Oct. 29 at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis.
The top 10 bands from the division’s semi-state competition will then compete at the ISSMA State Marching Band Finals on Nov. 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
