East edges Mooresville

MOORESVILLE — Mooresville missed a potential game-winning shot with 5 seconds remaining, and Saige Stahl grabbed the rebound and converted a one-and-one with 1.1 seconds left to allow Columbus East to hang on for a 43-40 victory on Friday.

The Olympians (3-2) led 28-20 a minute into the second half, but the Pioneers rallied to take a 33-31 lead with a minute left in the third quarter. The game was tied 33-33 going to the fourth.

Stahl finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead East. Allison Craig had a big 3-pointer and two free throws in the final 3:05 and finished with eight points. Leah Bachmann added five points and seven rebounds.

Columbus Christian falls

Rock Creek Academy jumped out to a 37-16 halftime lead and went on to hand Columbus Christian a 69-23 defeat.

Sarah Lorimor led the Crusaders (1-2) with 12 points. Lauren Sanders added seven.

Eagles fall to Knights

NASHVILLE — Brown County dropped a 49-47 Western Indiana Conference decision against Northview.

Ava Stogsdill led the Eagles (2-3, 1-1) with 13 points. Lexie Austin and Maddie Huff each scored 10, and Anna Stogsdill added eight.

Pirates top Cougars

GREENSBURG — South Decatur fell behind 33-12 at halftime and fell to Greensburg 57-25.

Kiley Best led the Cougars (3-3) with 10 points. Paige McQueen added five.
