COLUMBUS
William “Bill” R. Martin, 83, of Columbus passed from this life at 4:55 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the Brown County Health &Living Community.
Mr. Martin was born December 16, 1939, in Columbus, the son of Fred and Olive Cook Martin.
He married Elaine Steinwedel June 26, 1965.
Bill was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
He was a retired tool &die maker and a U.S. Air Force Reserve Veteran.
Bill lived life to the fullest and brought joy to all those he met.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years; daughters, Jill (Randy) Baack of Nebraska and Jennifer (Rick) Harrison of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Megan (Garrett) Lisby, Mallory Harrison, Anna (Ross) Briggs and Abigail Baack; and sisters, Catherine Bradley of Greenfield and Eileen Frazier of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold Martin and Marion Martin; sisters, Charlotte Jenkins and Barbara Weber and a grandson, Ricky Harrison.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with the Revs. Mark Teike and Tim Carter officiating.
A time of visitation will be from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and 9:30 a.m. Thursday to time of service at the church.
He will be laid to rest at Garland Brook Cemetery.
