Bull Dogs receive exemplary reports from East AD

Columbus East athletics director Pete Huse gave the Columbus North wrestling and girls basketball teams an exemplary report when he hosted both teams last week.

Huse mentioned that the class and character of the North’s wrestling and girls basketball staff was outstanding and the both programs on the floor and mat made for a wonderful environment to enjoy.

Huse is set to retire as the East athletics director following the school year.

Games for today moved, postponed

With a significant winter storm hitting the area this evening through Friday morning, a lot of games have been canceled or moved to the afternoon for today.

The Columbus North girls basketball game at Carmel today has been rescheduled for Jan. 10. The Columbus East girls basketball game at Eastern (Pekin) has been postponed to Jan. 14.

The Hauser girls basketball game against Triton Central today has been postponed, and a makeup date has not been announced. The Jennings County’s girls basketball against Jeffersonville has been moved to a 6 p.m. JV tip off to noon, with the varsity game to follow at around 1:30 p.m..

The South Decatur boys basketball game at South Dearborn for today has been postponed, and a makeup date is still to be determined.

Also, Columbus North’s ECIC wresting tournament at Jay County on Friday has been canceled.

North at Jennings game rescheduled

The Columbus North at Jennings County girls basketball game scheduled for Tuesday has been moved to Dec. 30. The JV will tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity at around 7:30 p.m.

Hauser basketball games rescheduled

The Hauser girls basketball game against Brownstown Central that was scheduled for Tuesday has been moved Jan. 20, with the tipoff still at the same time (6 p.m. JV/7:30 p.m. varsity).

Also, the Hauser boys basketball against Morristown that was scheduled for Wednesday has been moved to Jan. 14, beginning with the JV at noon and the varsity game to follow at around 1:30 p.m..

North’s Burton to play football at Defiance

Columbus North senior tight end Blake Burton has decided to continue his football career at Defiance (Ohio) College.

Burton caught eight passes for 61 yards and a touchdown this fall.
