Prep sports notebook: North girls receive exemplary report

The Columbus North girls basketball team received another exemplary report from the IHSAA during Friday’s game against Jennings County.

The report states, “Both teams showed very good sportsmanship and hustled at all times. School should be proud of the way the teams handled themselves.”

Branstetter commits to IUPUC

Columbus North senior Logan Branstetter has committed to play for the newly-formed IUPUC volleyball team next year.

Branstetter finished her senior season with 127 kills, 98 digs, 49 blocks and 30 aces for the Bull Dogs.

Games changed, rescheduled

The Columbus North wrestling team will be going to Monrovia for the Monrovia Duals on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. instead of traveling to Corydon for the Old Capital City Classic.

The North girls basketball game at Carmel originally scheduled for Dec. 22 has been rescheduled for Tuesday. The JV will tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity at around 7:30 p.m.

The Columbus East girls basketball game at Eastern (Pekin) originally scheduled for Dec. 22 has been moved to Jan. 12.

The Hauser girls basketball game against Brownstown Central that was scheduled for Dec. 20 has been moved to Jan. 20, with the tipoff still at the same time (6 p.m. JV/7:30 p.m. varsity). Also, the Hauser girls basketball game at Batesville that was originally scheduled for Nov. 4 is rescheduled for Jan. 14 with the JV tip at 1 p.m., with the varsity to follow at around 2:30 p.m.

The Hauser boys basketball game against Morristown that was scheduled for Dec. 21 has been moved to Jan. 14, beginning with the JV at noon and the varsity game to follow at around 1:30 p.m..
