COLUMBUS
Pamela S. Moorman, 71, of Columbus passed from this life on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 4:05 P.M. at her home.
Mrs. Moorman was born on May 18, 1951, the daughter of Harold F. and Mildred R. Siefker Behrman. On July 9, 1982, she married Lester D. Moorman.
Mrs. Moorman was a 1969 graduate of Columbus High School, where she was a cheerleader all throughout high school. She then went on to work at Cummins Engine Company and later as a Teacher’s Aide at Columbus North High School in the Special Education department, where she truly enjoyed working with the students. Mrs. Moorman was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Sweet Tarts and was previously involved with coaching cheerleading at Central Middle School and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bartholomew County where she was voted “Best Big Sister of the Year”.
She had a tremendous love for going to Florida and being at the beach, helping others and above all spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Lester D. Moorman of Columbus; children, Minta (Robert) Scofield Johnson of Frisco, Texas and Zachary K. Scofield of Michigan; grandchildren, Ella Johnson, Maddie Johnson, and Megan Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tom Behrman.
The funeral service will be 6:00 P.M. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home with Pastor John Armstrong officiating.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 3:00 p.m. till time of service at the funeral home.
In keeping with Mrs. Moorman’s wishes cremation will take place following services and a private inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
In memory of Mrs. Moorman memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Grace Lutheran Church.
