Legion tenderloin sale raises record sum for Our Hospice

The Columbus American Legion Post 24 Tenderloin Fundraiser raised a record $11,331 Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. The funds raised will support the patients and families in our care.

“We are so grateful for the dedication of Commander Al McKown, the volunteers and staff at the American Legion who have provided us ongoing support over the past nine years,” said Steph Cain, Our Hospice President.

Our Hospice events and volunteer manager Julie Davis said, “It was crazy! The drive-thru and dine-in areas were full all day and we delivered over 100 meals to local businesses. We are so thankful for our staff and volunteers who battled the cold and rain to help us exceed our goal.”

Our Hospice said the funds raised will help fulfill its mission — to make every moment count for its patients and families. The local, not-for-profit hospice provides individualized care for patients and much-needed support for the families caring for them.

“We want to ensure that everyone who needs care at the end of life receives it,” Our Hospice said in a statement. That includes specialized care for pediatric patients, We Honor Veterans patients, improving the inpatient Hospice Center, and bring bereavement services to anyone experiencing grief.

“We are so fortunate to live and work in such a wonderful community that shares our mission to make every moment count because everyone deserves the best end-of-life care. We are truly better together,” Cain said.

Our Hospice serves Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson and 10 other south-central Indiana counties from offices in Columbus, North Vernon and Greensburg.
