David Andrew Burton 59, passed away on May 7, 2023, with wife Alma Jean Burton at his side after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Columbus, Indiana on August 2, 1963. He leaves behind his parents James and Carolyn Burton, brother Mark Burton(Elaine), stepchildren Stacy Klein(Fred) and Brent McCormick, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family, friends and colleagues. He was proceeded in death by his sister Michele Burton Emily.
After completing his undergraduate degree at Indiana University, David moved to New Orleans, LA to start his career as a restaurant General Manager and Market Training Manager prior to starting his Thirty-Year career with Taco Bell Corporation. David was a devoted leader and mentor to many which fueled his desire to further his education and obtain his MBA from the University of New Orleans that lead to an Area Coach/District Management position with Taco Bell/Yum Brands.
David enjoyed time with his family and friends most of all but also had a passion for sports and traveling. He embraced the New Orleans culture and loved all that it had to offer, especially the Cajun food. David will be deeply missed, everyone that knew him loved him, he was a true champion.
No memorial service or funeral is planned. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
