Kathryn Wilson
Columbus North junior Kathryn Wilson was named to the First-Team Singles All-State team by the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association. She won the state singles title on Saturday.
Also, North sophomore Aya Saad was named to the Second-Team All-State singles, and North sophomore Annabelle Sun and Jennings County junior Tatum Brown were named All-State honorable mention in singles.
North softball players named All-Conference
Several members of the Columbus North softball team were recently named to the All-Conference Indiana team.
Seniors Maddi Rutan, Kirsten Danford and Josie Lemmons and junior Kelsey Lovelace were on the First-Team. Senior Bailey King and freshman Payton Morris were named honorable mention.
The Bull Dogs finished 5-0 in winning the conference.
Smith named Lancers girls basketball coach
Dennis Smith has been named girls basketball coach at Edinburgh. He was the Lancers’ boys JV coach for eight years and has been a girls assistant coach the past two years. He also was head baseball coach for four years.
Smith replaces Amy Macy-Schilling, who resigned following the season.
East to hold boys, girls hoops camps
New Columbus East girls and boys basketball coaches Kaitlyn Phillips and Perry Nash will be holding camps this summer.
The girls basketball camp will be Wednesday to June 23. Times are 5 to 6:15 p.m. for girls entering Kindergarten through second grade, 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. for girls entering Grades 3-5 and 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. for girls entering Grades 6-8.
The boys basketball camp will be July 17 to 20. Times are 4 to 5 p.m. for Grades 1-3, 4 to 5:30 p.m. for Grades 4-6 and 5:30 to 7 p.m. for Grades 7-8.

Bull Dogs holding XC summer conditioning
The Columbus North boys and girls cross-country teams began summer conditioning this week.
The teams will be conditioning on Mondays at Grandview Lake (contact coach Rick Sluder for the address) and on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at the Columbus North track. All sessions begin at 8:30 a.m.
