Photo provided Bartholomew County 4-Hers Owen Arnholt, Luke Lienhoop, Cayden McGiffen, Levi Carothers, Ryan Lienhoop, Eli Kirkland, Joel Murphy, Emmitt Harden and Kendrick Crowder will advance to the Indiana State Fair after competing in the Area 1 Tractor Contest in Decatur County.
Eighteen competitors from Bartholomew County 4-H Lawn and Garden recently competed in the Area 1 4-H Tractor Contest at the Decatur County fairgrounds. Area 1 consists of nine counties in the southeastern corner of Indiana.
Contestants were judged on driving skills and safety while maneuvering through a defined course, parts identification, and a safety and maintenance practices test.
The top three contestants from each of the six contests will advance to the Indiana State Fair in the Indiana State Fair Coliseum to represent Area 1.
The following Bartholomew County 4-Hers will compete at the State Fair:
- Junior Lawn and Garden — Owen Arnholt, Luke Lienhoop and Cayden McGiffen
- Senior Lawn and Garden — Levi Carothers, Ryan Lienhoop and Eli Kirkland
- Junior Zero Turn Mower — Carson Wilmer and Jonathan Dettmer
- Senior Zero Turn Mower — Joel Murphy and Emmitt Harden
- Senior Ag Tractor — Kendrick Crowder
