Air Quality Action day declared

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has issued an Air Quality Action Day for today for southeast Indiana. Air quality is expected to reach the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (Orange) level.

IDEM is forecasting high ozone levels due to a stagnant weather pattern across the area and continued influence of air from the Canadian wildfires. Areas under the alert include Bartholomew County and Columbus, along with Bloomington, Brookville,Indianapolis, Greensburg, Martinsville, Muncie, Richmond, Brownstown, Corydon, Jeffersonville, Madison, New Albany, Salem and Versailles.
