Kenneth L. “Kenny” Claycamp

SEYMOUR, IN

Kenneth L. Claycamp passed from this life on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the Lutheran Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family after a battle with a very rare form of cancer, Extramammary Paget’s Disease.

Kenny was born in Seymour on May 19, 1942, to Andrew and Gladys (Toburen) Claycamp. He went to grade school in a one room schoolhouse at White Creek, was confirmed at St. John’s White Creek Lutheran Church in Seymour. He was a 1960 graduate of Columbus North High School and was a member of the 152 Infantry of the Army National Guard. He retired from Cummins Engine Company in 2001 after 39 1/2 years of service. For a short time after retirement, he drove school buses for both Seymour Community Schools and Bartholomew Consolidated Schools. In the fall of 1980 on a blind date, he met his soulmate Darlene Brock, and three years later on September 24, 1983, they were married in Springfield, Tennessee.

In earlier years, Kenny enjoyed riding horses and mules, running in 10K runs and mini marathons, riding motorcycles, 4 wheelers and side by sides, camping, boating, traveling, going to auctions and flea markets and loved a good game of euchre with friends. He enjoyed water skiing until the age of 70. He was a kind and thoughtful soul who never met a stranger. He was blessed with the gift of gab, was a kidder and loved to joke around. He was truly kindhearted and was loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his only sibling, Carol J. Claycamp.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of almost 40 years, Darlene. Daughters, Anissa Claycamp, Darcy (Doug) Roxbury and Suzanne Darlage; Grandchildren, Andrew (Mallory), Lee and Garrett (Cheyenne) Marsh, Tallon Robertson, Delaney and Danyel Roxbury; great grandchildren, Brian, Elexus, Vincent, Luka, Elliott &Roman Marsh, Gracelyn Folsom Robertson, Kenton Marsh and two bonus grandchildren, Abram Andrew &Kyler Cox.

He will also be missed by his furry companions Mr. Dill Pickles and Stubby.

Kenny’s loving and generous spirit continues as it was his wish that upon his passing that he would be an anatomical donor.

Funeral services for Kenny will take place on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Voss &Sons Funeral Home in Seymour with Reverend Alarik Morris officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. at the Voss &Sons Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.

Memorial contributions may be made in Kenny’s memory to Peace Lutheran Church Meal Program or to the Indiana University School of Medicine.
