Two Columbus students recently competed in the North American Bible Quizzing Tournament in July with their teammates. The students competed against teams from across North America where they answered detailed questions about Paul’s Epistles.
Asher Mullins, 11, of Columbus, and teammate Micah Alt of New Whiteland represented “Indiana 1” in the Junior Bible Quizzing Tournament from July 16 to 21 in Branson, Missouri. They memorized more than 276 verses from Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians. The team has been undefeated the entire season and took first place out of 89 teams.
Judah Mullins, 14, of Columbus and teammates Levi and Andrew Stirnemann of New Whiteland competed in the experienced division, where they memorized 517 verses, which included the complete books of Ephesians, Colossians, Philemon, Titus, I Timothy and II Timothy. The team represented “Indiana 2” from July 21 to 25 in St. Charles, Missouri. They tied for fifth place out of 58 teams.
The students’ mother, Rebekka Mullins, also is an assistant coach.
Bible Quizzing is a ministry of the United Pentecostal International. The officials are selected from the Youth and Sunday School departments. Passages of study and rules are determined by the officials.
