Ronald Edwin (Ronnie) Neal, 82, died peacefully July 28th, 2023, at his home in Saratoga Springs, NY following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones in the days leading up to his death.
Ron was born the youngest of three children to Edwin Neal and Hildreth (Jorden) Cockley, previously Hildreth Neal in Sanford, IN on October 16th, 1940. Ron was a 1958 graduate of Columbus High School.
He worked in the heating and air conditioning business, with a concentration on geothermal, for more than 60 years, right up to the time of his death. He had an undying passion for his work, family, friends, and loved to share sleight-of-hand magic tricks with all three.
Ron was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia “Pat” (Mayfield) Neal; Father, Edwin Neal; mother, Hildreth (Jorden) Cockley; brother, Jimmie Earl “Jim” Neal; and half-brother Philip Neal. He is survived by his wife, Joan Tepper-Neal; son, Ronald Scott Neal; son, Christopher Earl Neal and wife, Kristian Neal; stepson, Jason Tepper and wife, Tamara Tepper; stepson, Jonathan Tepper and wife Edra Tepper; sister, Luauna Brougher. Ron had 9 grandchildren, Jackson Neal, Patrick Neal, Annie Neal, Carly Neal, Hanna Tepper, Madden Tepper, Mason Tepper, Isla Tepper, and William Tepper.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 27th at the home of Eric and Missy Neal, 9378 Mirror Road, Columbus, IN 47201. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1PM-4PM. Pastor Derek Penwell of Douglass Blvd Christian Church will deliver a memorial statement at 4PM followed by open words of reflection from family and friends.
