SEYMOUR — Columbus East came close at No. 1 singles Thursday, but Seymour took the other four matches in straight sets in a 5-0 boys tennis decision.
Erik Takahashi fell to Joe Schmidt 5-7, 6-4, (10-6) at No. 1 singles, Tyler Ernst lost to Parker Thompson 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Henry Ulrich lost to Carter Stein 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Olympians (4-7).
East’s Brady Redelman and Ethan Bumbalough lost to Shoo Takeuchi and Joel Stevens 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Jacob Dettmer and Trevor Ernst fell to Drew Handloser and Xavier DuBois 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
