Snacks and drinks provided. Check-in to ride at Community Church of Columbus Parking Lot between 8:15 and 8:45 a.m.
Zara’s Senior Project 5k Walk/Run — 9 a.m. to noon, Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena, 2501 Lincoln Park Dr., Columbus. 5K Run and Walk and bring your dog to support Columbus Turning Point. Starts and finishes at Hamilton Community Center. Please park behind the tennis courts. Online registration is required.
Hooks and Needles Workshop — 11 a.m. to noon, Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Calling all types of needle crafters to gather to create and socialize. We will help you learn how to read patterns and work on basic needlecraft projects. Come hang out, share your project and ideas, or learn a new craft.
Kitty Palooza — Noon to 4 p.m., NexusPark, 2380 25th St., Columbus. A one-day adoption event for cats and kittens looking for loving homes. All cats will have a reduced adoption fee of $40, which includes spaying or neutering, up-to-date on shots (as age appropriate) and microchipping prior to adoption. Teen Pizza Party Society — 3 to 4 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. What mystery is afoot at the Pizza Party Society? Who is this new mysterious stranger? Where is the pizza from? Answer to these questions and more to be revealed in the September meeting.
Hot Rods and Rock & Roll — 3 to 9 p.m., downtown Columbus. 106.1 The River will be holding its annual free community car show and concert in downtown Columbus. The car show begins at 3 p.m. and is followed by a free concert at 7 p.m. featuring “Rick K and the Allnighters.” Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
Learn to Play Hockey — 4:15 to 5:15 p.m., Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena, 2501 Lincoln Park Drive, Columbus. Children ages 4 to 10 can learn the basic skills of hockey without an over emphasis on winning. Free equipment is available to use. Cost is $5 per child. Please arrive 30 minutes early to get fitted for your equipment.
