Looking Back, Sept. 19, 2023

Columbus North Bull Dogs got together in the school cafeteria for a healthy meal and a healthy dose of camaraderie on nights before football games in 2013. The pre-game dinners were also held across town each week at Columbus East High School for the Olympians.

Bartholomew County Historical Society announced the acquisition of a 17,000-square-foot building on Aiken Street in Hope, future home for exhibits, demonstrations and presentations.

A bomb threat called in to 911 halted meetings and court business at Bartholomew County Courthouse but proved to be false.

The Republic and a faculty group from Franklin College took part in a unique nationwide experiment in education by publishing a 20-lecture “course by newspaper” titled “America and the Future of Man,” worth two hours of college credit.
