COLUMBUS
Robert “Bob” McGuire, 77, of Columbus, passed from this life at 11:36 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2023, at his home.
Mr. McGuire was born October 1, 1945, in Loogootee, Indiana, the son of Edgar J. and Elsie R. Rees McGuire.
He married Mary R. Dant May 15, 1965; she preceded him in death April 7, 2007.
Bob retired from Cummins Engine Company in 2001 after 35 years of service and was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
He was a hard working family man and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren unconditionally.
Survivors include his daughter, Sherry Smith of Columbus; son, Rob A. (Hallie Henry) McGuire of Columbus;
grandchildren, Ashley (Joey) Thomas, Kaitlin (Clayton) Webster and Brittany (Keith Crabtree) McGuire;
great-grandchildren, Tye, Conner and Breton Thomas and twins, Everly and Roman Webster and a sister, Jane Carrico of Washington, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers, Kenneth and Richard McGuire.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bramble, Indiana with Father Kenneth Walker officiating.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike and 9:30 a.m. to time of service at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mac will be laid to rest next to his late wife at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Bramble, Indiana.
