Hope nighttime 5K to raise funds for cancer research

HOPE — A nighttime 5K run on Saturday in memory of a Hauser Jr./Sr. High School student who lost her battle with cancer in 2020 will raise money to further research toward cures.

The Hope Future Farmers of America and the GLOW Like Sarah Fund will host a 5K in honor of Sarah Taylor, who died three years ago from osteosarcoma at age 14. Registration is $35, and all proceeds will benefit the Tyler Trent Foundation. Online registration is at https://runsignup.com/…/Hope/ReadySetGLOWLightUptheNight5K, where donations also are accepted.

According to organizers, “Runners should be prepared to complete a 5K on an open road course, running through color stations where you will be splattered with glow in the dark paint. Sarah Taylor was a light to so many in our community and we want to continue to glow like Sarah.”

The event will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday near the high school ag building/tennis courts, 9575 N. State Road 9 in Hope. Packet pickup is at 5 p.m.
