City leaf pickup to begin

Columbus will start its fall leaf pickup program in mid-October.

The curbside leaf pickup program begins Oct. 16th and continues through Dec. 15th.

Residents should rake loose, unbagged leaves to the curb by 7 a.m. on trash pickup day. Residents are asked to refrain from putting leaves in the street gutters where they can clog storm drains and result in flooding.

Leaves will not be collected if they are bagged. Bagged leaves may be taken to the compost site at 720 S. Mapleton St., where leaves may be dumped out, and residents are asked to take their bags home.

The fall street sweeping schedule also begins on Oct. 16 and continues through Dec. 7.
