North boys 15th, girls 19th at Twilight meet; Hauser boys 20th in open race

TERRE HAUTE — Columbus North’s boys finished 15th, and the Bull Dog girls were 19th in the Championship races of Saturday’s Cross Country Town Twilight at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course that hosts the state finals.

North’s boys finished with 385 points. Carmel won with 192 points to 239 for Plainfield, 242 for Christian Brothers College (Missouri), 250 for Jesuit, 274 for Rock Bridge (Missouri) and 298 for Mason (Ohio).

Akot Tong and Neal White led the Bull Dogs with 55th- and 56th-place finishes in 15 minutes, 44.1 seconds and 15:44.2 for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles). Jace Works took 94th in 16:05.6, while Adam Reckers was 126th (16:16.5), Draven Martinez 151st (16:23.9), Denton Sluder 195th (16:34.7) Jonny Klaus 199th (16:35.3), Logan Vanzant 200th (16:35.3), Damien Dixon 236th (16:34.7) and Amit Gangadhara 291st (17:05.0).

North’s girls finished with 550 points. Mt. Prospect (Illinois) won with 94 points to 134 for Noblesville and 153 for Mason (Ohio).

Ainsley Sherlock led the Bull Dogs with a 72nd-place finish in 19:13.5. Kyleigh Wolf took 80th 19:15.0, while Macy Eaton was 177th (20:09.7), Emma Lowther 185th (20:13.6), Tristan Works 200th (20:24.6), Lana Wisler 203rd (20:28.3), Carys Glyn-Jones 227th (20:40.2), Lydia Weed 246th (20:57.2), Kenzie Meyer 258th (21:07.9) and Maggie Russell 305th (21:31.7).

Meanwhile, Hauser finished 20th with 606 points, and Brown County was 24th with 646 in the Boys Open Race #1. Mt. Vernon won with 78 points for 214 for Cincinnati St. Xavier, 164 for Fishers and 181 for Louisville Trinity.

Colin Kistler led the Jets with a 52nd-place finish in 17:35.8. Nolan Dailey took 87th in 18:03.5, while Koleson Gernentz was 189th (19:10.1), Mason Moore 219th (19:29.6) and Braydon McFarland 272nd (20:13.4).

Charlie Webb finished 119th in 18:20.8 to lead the Eagles. Kai Koester took 145th in 18:36.7, while Josh Redmon was 216th (19:28.3), Eli Wrightsman 226th (19:34.4) and Aden Skaggs 251st (19:53.2).

Hauser had two girls compete in the Girls Open Race #1. Addison Dailey finished 347th in 28:06.9, and Lucie Asher was 361st in 28:47.0.
