Masheh Narang, vice president and president of Cummins’ components business, is departing the company later this month to pursue an external opportunity, the company said Tuesday.

In a press release, Cummins said Narang, who has led the components business since 2021, served in a variety of business leadership roles during more than 20 years at the company. His last day will be Oct. 27.

“Mahesh’s impact on Cummins and our people are lasting,” said Cummins Chair and CEO Jennifer Rumsey. “He has capably led with a focus on excellence and building strong customer partnerships, and he has consistently demonstrated his ability to improve performance, enhance our technology and product offerings and deliver outstanding results. I have admired his unwavering commitment to his people and enjoyed watching him lead with fairness, coaching and developing those who work with and for him. He will be missed.”

While leading the components segment, Mahesh grew the business, expanded its capabilities and led the acquisition and integration of Jacobs Vehicle Systems and Meritor, the largest acquisition in Cummins’ history.

Prior to his current role, Narang led Cummins Emission Solutions and previously served as vice president and general manager of Cummins Turbo Technologies, another unit within the components business, and chief operating officer of Cummins’ India Area Business Organization.

Rumsey said she plans to name a replacement for Narang by the end of the month.
