Ivy Tech Community College – Columbus science faculty members are offering a free stargazing and insect observation event this weekend.
The event will start at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Greensburg State Fishing Area on the west side of Greensburg off State Road 3. Gates open at 7:45 p.m.
Ivy Tech Columbus faculty members Tom Sobat and Cyrus Screwvala will lead the event, which is open to the public.
“Attendance is limited to those planning to participate; no fishing, please,” Ivy Tech officials said in a release.
The science department’s telescope will be set up for stargazing, and a blacklight will be available for insect observation.
