After hosting some spooky workshops on pumpkin carving and special FX makeup in October, Columbus Propeller is now offering an event for anyone ready to deck the halls.
The makerspace will host a wreath-making class from 2-4 p.m. on Nov. 11. Organizers will provide artificial wreaths, LED lights, ribbons and other holiday decorations. The cost is $50 per wreath.
Training coordinator Tracy Munn said that attendees will be able to learn how to program LED lights. He added that one Propeller member has already used that skill to program lights on the marquis of a Crump Theatre she made out of Lego bricks.
“It’s kind of a technical thing to learn,” Munn said. “But once you learn how to do it, you can use it if you’re making a sign or have a project at home that you want to light up with LED lights. This is the place to come and learn it.”
The class will be led by Propeller members who have gone through a similar workshop in the past.
“I just think it’s going to be really cool,” Munn said. “We’ve been looking forward to it. We’ve been wanting to do a holiday event. We did some fun fall activities in October with Halloween, so yeah, we’re excited to get some other holiday events going that will get people excited to come to Propeller.”
