Columbus North graduates Graham and Flynn Keele are part of the Indiana University men’s club soccer team that will play in the NIRSA national soccer championships Thursday through Saturday in Round Rock, Texas.
Graham, a senior captain, and Flynn, a freshman, helped the IU club team to a 9-0-1 record in the Plains Division of the Midwest Alliance. They then went 4-0 to capture the Midwest Alliance Cup regional tournament to qualify for the national event.
Meanwhile, in the NIRSA national cross-country championships, Adler Larson finished 15th to help the IU club to a third-place finish in the freshman-sophomore event Saturday at Shelbyville’s Blue River Park. The freshman from North ran 26 minutes, 55 seconds for 8K (5 miles).
L. Barker named to All-HCAC squad
FRANKLIN — Franklin College’s Lauren Barker has been named to the All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer first team.

Barker, a freshman from Columbus North, led the Grizzlies with four goals, including two game-winners and 10 points. She was the only Franklin player to make the first team.
Barker made her debut with the Grizzlies’ women’s basketball team on Wednesday and scored one point on 1 of 2 shooting from the free-throw line in an 85-56 win against St. Mary’s (Indiana). She also had two rebounds in 11 minutes of action.
Franklin plays at Spalding (Ky.) on Wednesday.
B. Barker scores 14 in close loss at IU
Army’s Blake Barker made his return to southern Indiana a memorable one, posting career-highs of 14 points, three rebounds and two steals in a 72-64 loss at Indiana on Sunday.

Barker, a junior from Columbus North, went 5 of 13 from the field, including 3 of 9 from 3-point range, and 1 of 2 from the free-throw line. He added three assists in 30 minutes of action for the Black Knights (0-3).
On Thursday, Barker had six points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal in 28 minutes in a 57-44 loss at Stonehill. In the Nov. 6 season opener, he had two rebounds in 11 minutes in a 71-55 loss to Marist.
Army will host Quinnipiac on Friday.
Stahl scores first career points
Saige Stahl scored the first two points of her collegiate basketball career Thursday in Indiana State’s 98-57 loss at Missouri.

Stahl, a freshman from Columbus East, went 0 of 1 from the field and 2 of 2 from the free-throw line. She added four rebounds and a steal in 10 minutes for the Sycamores (1-1).
ISU had opened the season with an 85-82 overtime win at Northern Kentucky on Nov. 6. Stahl grabbed two rebounds in two minutes of action.
The Sycamores host Illinois-Springfield on Wednesday and Wright State on Saturday.
Greiwe makes collegiate debut
MARION — Koryn Greiwe made her collegiate basketball debut on Friday in Indiana Wesleyan’s 83-60 win against Roosevelt.

Greiwe, a redshirt freshman from Columbus East, scored one point on 1 of 2 shooting from the free-throw line. She also had a rebound and an assist in four minutes of action for the Wildcats (3-1).
IWU will host Columbia (Mo.) College on Tuesday and Huntington on Saturday.
Collier catches 2 TD passes in loss
KALAMAZOO, Mich. — One week after catching his first career touchdown pass, Mitchel Collier hauled in two scoring passes in Central Michigan’s 38-28 Mid-American Conference football loss Tuesday at Western Michigan.

The Chippewas (5-5, 3-3) visit Ohio University at 7 p.m. Wednesday in a game that will be televised by ESPNU.
Huffman scores TD on long run
HANOVER — Blake Huffman scored on a 40-yard run Saturday to finish off Hanover’s 36-17 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference win against Franklin to close the season.

Barnett, Bison headed to NCAA
GAINSVILLE, Fla. — Mackenzie Barnett and the Lipscomb women’s cross-country team receive an at-large berth to the NCAA Championships following their fifth-place finish in Saturday’s NCAA South Regional.

Kiesler leads Broncos in regional
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Julia Kiesler led the Boise State women’s cross-country team with a 26th-place finish Friday in the NCAA West Regional.

Gilley leads ISU in digs in wins
TERRE HAUTE — Cadence Gilley led Indiana State with 12 digs and added six assists Saturday in a 25-22, 25-15, 25-19 Missouri Valley Conference win against Belmont.

ISU (5-22, 3-14) will close the season Wednesday at home against Evansville.
Sabotin leads UINdy to victory
Hannah Sabotin led University of Indianapolis with 18 kills and had a block, four digs and an ace Saturday in a 22-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-21 Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball win at Illinois-Springfield.

Niedbalski to play in PGA University event
Jacob Niedbalski will compete in the PGA University Championship Tuesday and Wednesday in Philadelphia, Mississippi.

Niedbalski, a sophomore from Columbus North and the reigning Columbus city champion, is in Eastern Kentucky’s golf management program. The PGA University Championship is open to students in professional golf management programs.
IUC athletes named All-Conference
Nine IU Columbus athletes have been recognized on All-River States Conference teams for fall sports.
In men’s soccer, Jon Michael Bright made the second team, Jacob Kasarda is on the third team and Angel Roque made the third team and Champions of Character team.
Cora Baker was selected to the volleyball second team and RSC Champions of Character team.
Brett Kleber is on the women’s cross-country second team. Connor Beatty and Audra McNear made the men’s and women’s cross-country Champions of Character teams.
