CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Mackenzie Barnett passed 24 runners over the final 1,000 meters to finish 81st Saturday and help lead Lipscomb to an 11th-place finish in the NCAA Division I Women’s Cross Country National Championship.
Barnett, a junior from Columbus North, finished in 20 minutes, 33.1 seconds for 6K (3.8 miles). She was the No. 2 runner for the Bisons.
Barnett’s finish is the fifth-best ever by an ASUN individual at the national championships and the second-best in Lipscomb history behind only the 38th-place finish by teammate Lydia Miller on Saturday.
Barker nets 11 in Franklin victory
LOUISVILLE — Lauren Barker came off the bench to score a career-high 11 points Wednesday to help lead Franklin to an 87-61 win at Spalding.

Barker, a freshman from Columbus North, went 4 of 6 from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range. She added a rebound in 25 minutes of action.
The Grizzlies, who are off to their first 2-0 start in nine years, will visit Albion (Michigan) on Tuesday.
Barker scores 10 in Army loss
WEST POINT, N.Y. — Blake Barker opened the game with back-to-back 3-pointers to give Army an early 6-0 lead Friday, but Quinnipiac rallied for a 67-58 victory.

Horn records 2 points in debut
MEMPHIS — Cooper Horn made his college basketball debut and scored two points on 2-of-2 shooting from the free-throw line in DePauw’s 65-58 win at Rhodes.

Horn, a freshman from Columbus North, also had a steal in four minutes of action for the Tigers. He had missed the beginning of the season while recovering from a high ankle sprain.
DePauw (2-2) will visit Berea (Kentucky) on Wednesday.
Ferguson scores 5 in pair of losses
WHEATON, Ill. — Ty Ferguson scored five points on 2-of-2 shooting from the field, including 1-of-1 from 3-point range, and had an assist and a steal in 12 minutes Saturday in Wheaton’s 78-60 loss to Heidelberg (Ohio) in Lee Pfund Classic.

A night earlier, Ferguson scored five points on 1-of-1 shooting from 3-point range and 2-of-2 shooting from the free-throw line in five minutes of action in a 79-66 loss to Piedmont.
Ferguson, a freshman from Columbus North, also had a rebound and an assist in four minutes in Tuesday’s 86-65 win against Lake Forest.
The Thunder (1-3) will visit Transylvania on Saturday.
Stahl nets 2 points in ISU defeat
TERRE HAUTE — Saige Stahl recorded two points and one rebound Wednesday in Indiana State’s 71-69 loss to Illinois-Springfield.

The Sycamores (1-3) are headed to San Juan for the Puerto Rico Clasico. They will play Radford on Thursday and Northern Illinois on Saturday.
Sabotin, UIndy wrap up season
WILLIAMSVILLE, Ill. — Hannah Sabotin pounded seven kills and led University of Indianapolis with two blocks Friday in a 25-15, 25-17, 25-22 volleyball loss at Lewis in the quarterfinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.

TERRE HAUTE — Cadence Gilley recorded 11 digs and led Indiana State with two aces Wednesday in a 28-26, 21-25, 25-5, 25-17 loss to Evansville.
