COLUMBUS
Dana L. Barlow, 63, of Columbus, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at her home. Dana was born October 22, 1960, in Batholomew County to Alvin Dale and Wilma Joyce Hanner Sovern. On January 23, 1987, she married Daniel Barlow.
Mrs. Barlow was a fan of dirt track and NASCAR racing. She loved to read, cook and host gatherings. Riding ATVs in the Colorado mountains and boating with her husband, Dan, were among some of her favorite things to do. Dana liked to relax while camping and spending time with her family. Travel and adventure were something that she looked forward to doing whenever she could. She will be deeply missed by those that know and love her.
Survivors include her husband, Dan; daughter, Lindsey Sovern; step-daughter, Jessica Schapson; ten grandchildren; father, Dale Sovern; sister, Anita Barker; brother, Mark Sovern and nephew, Tyler Barker, all of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma and step-son, Adam.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Pastor Jim Pursley officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery next to her step-son, Adam Barlow.
