Columbus North senior Alexis Jones recently signed to bowl for Marian University starting next fall.
Last year, Jones won the state girls singles championship and also was named first-team All-State.
Marian is coached by Columbus East graduate Jordan Gray and his wife Jerracah.
North’s Whitley named All-Central Region
Columbus North senior Aidan Whitley has been named to the All-Great Lakes Region team by the United Soccer Coaches Association.
Whitley led the Bull Dogs with 13 goals and 12 assists this season in leading them to a regional title and state final four appearance. He earlier was named The Republic Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
Whitley is the second North player in as many years to be named All-Region. Anthony Johnson was an All-Great Lakes Region selection last year.
North boys hoops games rescheduled
The Columbus North boys basketball game at Terre Haute South that was scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed.
The game will be Feb. 24. The JV will begin at 6 p.m., with the varsity to follow at around 7:30 p.m.
Also, the Jennings County at Columbus North boys basketball game that was originally scheduled for Dec. 5 has been moved to Jan. 16.
