Elks Christmas Cheer Fund helps 45 families, 118 children

The Columbus Elks Lodge #521 supported 45 families and 118 children this year through the club’s annual Children’s Christmas Cheer Fund.

The Elks raised more than $14,500 by hosting the June Piggy Party and annual golf outing fundraising activities. The Lodge also received $4,000 Beacon and $2,000 Gratitude grants from the Elks National Foundation to support local charities. The local lodge also received a $2,000 Spotlight grant that was donated to the Heritage Fund Community Foundation — Peyton’s Fund.

The Elks National Foundation’s mission is to help Elks build stronger communities by investing in communities where Elks live and work. Club members help youth develop lifelong skills, send students to college, meet the needs of veterans, support the charitable work of the state Elks associations and fund projects that improve the quality of life in local Elks communities.
