Judith Ann Garvey

COLUMBUS, INDIANA

Judith Ann Garvey, 82, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 11:20 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024, at her home.

Judith was born in Columbus, October 3, 1941, the first daughter born to Evelyn Stillabower Hammond and George Hammond.

Judith was a waitress at the former Imperial House and the Ramada Inn. She enjoyed her membership at New Hope Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had a special place in her heart for the family dogs. Some of her other hobbies include reading, watching tv, playing games and flower gardening.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her sons, David (Kristi) Garvey of Columbus and Daniel (Janna) Garvey of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Brennin Warnell Garvey, Cody Garvey, Madelyn Chandler, Avery Chandler, Addyson Chandler and Devyn Milburn; great-grandchildren, Reyce Garvey, Westyn Garvey and Brooklyn Garvey; and many nieces and nephews.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and George Hammond; sisters, Mary Turner and Bonnie Horn; and her grandmother, Verle Stillabower.

The memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2024, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; John Sichting will officiate.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place next to her mother in Section 83 at the Garland Brook Cemetery.
